We're believers that have a proper life/work balance is crucial to both happiness and success - so take what time off you need, just make sure your team knows about it and your work is getting done/covered.
We support you taking paid vacation time - how much, and when, as you see fit. We believe this flexibility helps to ensure that you take the time off you need, when you need it, away from work and that you come back rejuvenated to perform your responsibilities.
As must be obvious, this policy is based on mutual trust between you, the company and your teammates. You must communicate and collaborate with your team and supervisor to ensure that when you take vacation, you aren’t disrupting operations. We'll always strive to accommodate people taking time off (it's a priority for us!) but that means you need to plan to manage ahead of time active deliverables and projects that will be affected by your time off. Do not take vacation time off that negatively impacts your job, your team and the company. Coordinate with your team members to ensure fairness and efficiency.
Because you don’t have an allotted amount of vacation time, you don’t accrue vacation time off. As a result, there is no "bank" of unused time that gets paid out once you leave.
This policy applies to full-time and part-time employees of the company.
Usage Expectations
If you don’t spend a total of at least 3 weeks of the year away from work/slack/email you will get told it’s time to take a vacation.
Being healthy is important and we prioritize healing over all else. If you're sick take the day off! We offers unlimited sick time for caring for yourself or an immediate family member.
Our unlimited sick leave policy only covers absences of up to two weeks - if you need more time than that you may need to go on short-term disability or FMLA Leave. Please reach out to People to discuss this
We offer paid holidays in all countries that we operate in:
When to Request
As a general rule, you should tell us about / request time off at least twice as long before as you're going to be (so if you're going to be out for a week, bring it up at least two weeks before).
If you’re seeking vacation time of three or more consecutive days, you should obtain prior written approval of your supervisor. Our bias is to approve any vacation time requested so long as it won't compromise our ability to deliver on prior commitments or put an unfair burden on the rest of the team.
